There was once a king who called the wise men of the court to give them an assignment:
- I'm making a beautiful gold ring with a big diamond. Below the diamond, I want to save some message me and I will help every man in the difficult moments of life. Obviously has to be a small message to fit the ring.
All these sages were great scholars. Could have written great treatises on any subject. So, they put their minds to work.
For a year, thought and debated. Search all books. Consulted with other scholars in countries distant. But they could not find anything. And they had to report his failure to the king.
When it reported, was this an old servant of the royal family, known for his devotion to mysticism. It intervened, saying:
- Oh, your Majesty, I have no education, I am not a scholar nor an academic. But I have what will work. And the old mystic wrote something on a tiny paper, folded it and gave it to the king, saying:
- But do not read now. Keep it hidden in the ring. Open it only when all else has failed, when they find out the situation. That moment
not long in coming. The country was invaded and the king lost his kingdom. His horse was running for his life and his enemies were after him. Few of his followers and the pursuers were numerous. He was desperate and about to surrender.
Suddenly, he remembered the ring. Took the paper and there he found his little message, which simply said was:
"All this happened"
Those words were her miracle. Inspired her new faith and courage. Redoubled their efforts and escaped. At the end of a year, brought together their armies and recaptured the kingdom. And
day he came back victorious in the capital, had a great celebration in the palace with music, dance, food, etc..
The King presided over the festivities from his throne, feeling very proud of himself. The old mystic
approached and said:
- The timing is appropriate: see the message again.
- What do you mean? Asked the king. Now I am victorious people celebrate my return, I am not desperate, not
I am in a hopeless situation.
The old man replied: - This message is only for desperate situations it is also for pleasant situations.

The king opened the ring and read the message: "All this happen."
The old man said: - Everything passes. Nothing is permanent and no emotion. Everything comes and goes as the day and night. There will be moments of joy and moments of sadness. Accept them as part of the duality of life is the very nature of existence.
